What to watch and where to watch it this weekend. Dirt or asphalt. Oval or road. Open-wheel or fendered. And a little bit of everything else. We'll try to keep you covered on the can't-miss events for Couch Racers. Full weekend here.
HIGHLIGHTS:
NASCAR (Big 3) at Martinsville Speedway - Thurs/Fri/Sat, FS1
Fan favorite Martinsville Speedway hosts all three NASCAR national touring series this weekend starting with the Camping World Truck series Thursday night at 8pm. Then on Friday at 7:30pm the XFinity series takes their turn before finally the Cup Series will run it's 400 lap event Saturday at 7:30pm. Should provide plenty of great Couch Racing moments.
Southern Super Series at Five Flags Speedway - Friday 7pm, Racing America
The Super Late Model touring series has a double-header at Five Flags Speedway. You're likely to catch a battle any time the Super Late Models are in Pensacola but your chances sky rocket when Bubba Pollard and Stephen Nasse are regulars in the field. Should be a good weekend of racing only on Racing America.
The Icebreaker at Thompson Speedway - Saturday 1pm, Racing America
Sometimes postponed races are for the better. While we haven't seen an official entry list for the Open Modified Series race at the Ice Breaker this weekend, it surely couldn't have gotten worse now that weather forced it to be moved away from last week's Tour Modified double-header in Virginia. We hope to see some exciting names join the event.
Stadium Super Trucks at Long Beach - Saturday 7:30pm, YouTube
Popular YouTuber Cleetus McFarland makes his Stadium Super Truck debut in a truck prepared by Robbie Gordon. In 2022 thus far McFarland has made his stock car debut at the track he owns in Florida, his dirt racing debut at the Bristol Dirt Nationals, and now he takes on the Stadium Super Trucks in Long Beach. They also run Sunday at 6:30pm.
SMART Mod Tour at Franklin County Speedway - Sunday 5pm, FloRacing
The SMART modified tour runs Sunday at Franklin County Speedway, just about an hour north of Martinsville Speedway. Matt Hirschman leads points for the SMART mods but is not known to chase championships. Leaving many to wonder how long he's committed to the SMART tour schedule. As long as he shows up, he's a favorite to win at any racetrack.
NASCAR Mexico at Chiapas - Sunday 7:30pm, YouTube
NASCAR Mexico Series kicks off their season at the Super Oval Chiapas. We won't be highlighting many NASCAR Mexico events but Chiapas is probably the second best oval course the series runs at behind Potosino. It's a 1.25 mile tri-oval with a 12-degree banking and usually puts on a good show.
