What to watch and where to watch it this weekend. Dirt or asphalt. Oval or road. Open-wheel or fendered. And a little bit of everything else. We'll try to keep you covered on the can't-miss events for Couch Racers. Full weekend here.
HIGHLIGHTS:
World of Outlaws Late Models at Mississippi Thunder Speedway - Thurs/Fri/Sat 7:30pm, DIRTVision
A $50k payday on Saturday Night headlines the exciting triple-header weekend for the WoO Late Models. Last year Brandon Shephard set a track record and won Friday's even with Chris Madden taking the Saturday night win. This year financial ramifications will be much steeper as Thursday/Friday only pay $10k to win. The Outlaws will be joined by the US Modified Touring Series and I believe DIRTVision will cover both series.
POWRi National Midgets at Macon Speedway - Sat 7:30pm, MavTV+
The first half of the Illiana Showdown was postponed for tomorrow's event at Charleston Speedway. Hopefully weather will stay out of the conversation for Saturday at Macon Speedway. Defending champ Bryant Wiedeman holds a small point lead over Cannon McIntonsh who finished 2nd to Buddy Kofoid at Macon last June.
North/South Super Late Models and ARCA East at Nashville Fairgrounds - Sat 7pm/9:30pm, Racing America/FloRacing
A rare split broadcast event for the action at the fan-favorite Nashville Fairgrounds this Saturday. Racing America will have coverage of the SLM events and then FloRacing will take over for the ARCA East coverage. For those without a FloRacing subscription, the race will be replayed on USA network May 13th at Noon.
Opening Night at Riverhead Raceway - Saturday 6pm, FloRacing
Rain threatens to wash out the stacked schedule for Riverhead Raceway's Season Opener. But if they manage to get it in, fans will be treated to two Modified divisions, Late Models, Super Pro Trucks, Blunderbusts and Figure 8s. And for the first time the Couch Racer logo will be on-track.
