Is Revenge A Dish Best Served Cold?

The adage goes that revenge is a dish best served cold. But is it? Can it really beat the instant satisfaction of making someone pay on the spot? I think the best revenge is when you're still steaming hot with rage. And apparently I'm not alone.

Saturday night, Sprint Car driver DJ Netto got more than a plateful of right-rear served his way from competitor Tony Gomes. Netto went for a wild ride and thankfully climbed out of his wrecked racecar immediately and in a hurry. He also had a nice long walk to gather his thoughts before stopping at Gomes' car. After a very brief exchange of pleasantries, a bright idea sparked in Netto's head to end Gomes' night right then and there. In the video you'll see Netto look down at the engine, rip something apart and toss it into the lap of Gomes before walking away.

Netto succeeded in ending the night for the 75 team and just to be sure, he made a second stop while the crew tried repairing the damage in the work area. This time running up to the right side of the car while the entire crew was focused on the left side. I'm not sure what he accomplished the second time besides getting himself in a headlock but all in all, a job well done. Watch below.

I'm not sure what the punishment for Netto was but being the last night of racing at Silver Dollar this season, I can't imagine it wasn't worth it.

While the spark plug pull is an effective trick, we've all seen it before. If we're giving points for creativity, even the Russian judges would give Chad Sizemore a 10 for his revenge at the Speedrome last year. No details necessary, just watch and enjoy.

Sizemore was calm cool and collected just like DJ Netto. Not everyone is able to stay calculated in the heat of the moment however. Sometimes (apparently) you just need to cut across the track and t-bone a guy in the drivers door.

Luckily the target was okay enough to get out and fight. Seems like an easy way to get yourself into some legal trouble. Speaking of legal trouble.

There's no shortage of great short track spats. Share yours with us on Twitter at @couchracershop.
